red dead multiplayer unlocks

Red Dead Redemption has an addictive (yet slightly buggy at the moment) multiplayer mode which allows you to from gangs/posses with friends, ride the open plains, and take down enemy hideouts. It is so much fun, that it has been hard to take the time away to write this article.

As you kill stuff and complete certain tasks you gain experience (XP), which in turn levels up your character unlocking new titles, mounts and weapons. There are 50 ranks in total, as well as a Prestige-style “Legendary” mode which allows players to revert back to Rank 1 once they hit 50, but with the added benefit of even fancier new unlockables.

  1. I didn’t like the multiplayer, still to much bugs. Hope they will fix that with patches soon…

  2. How buggy is the mulitplayer? As I was thinking of buying Red Dead Redemption.

  3. It’s not as bad as some people have made out. Personally I haven’t encoutered any bugs or glitches and I play loads. The only bug so far is the loading screen one which they have patched (or will do soon)..?

It’s definately worth buying though! :-)

  4. The multiplayer RULES in RDR. First there is free roam. The entire map, open for all to kill each other repeatedly. If you get bored simply killing other players, they have added challenges and gang hideouts for NPCs to kill while in free roam.

Then from within free roam you have the option to join battlegrounds. Some are goal driven, pick up bags, capture the flag type stuff, and some are death match, team and pvp.

50 levels, unlockable skins, mounts and weapons, best graphics ever, huge online community, 3 DLCs planned, 1st one will be free for sure, there is no better online game right now except for the larger PC MMOs.

Obviously, you can only have 16 people online at one time. This limitation is to me the only draw back, since I came from WOW, where I am used to WG and AV and Sunreaver Island Dailies where there were many more people than a meager 16.

But that is the only draw back imo. Other than that the game is flawless. What bugs? Haven’t seen many. The occasional dead guy might flicker or some such nonsense, but very rarely.

Oh and you cant swim. Don’t know why, you just can’t. Get this game.

  5. Thanks for your comment John, you describe the multiplayer aspect really well. I love playing RDR on multiplayer, especially holding the fort with a few friends causing mayhem!

  6. This games free mode is deffinatly a blast and a HUGE step up from GTA4’s online maybe a few bugs but nuthing crazy… and umm how do I unlock legendary’s after I hit lvl 50?

  7. Legend Mode begins at level 50. You are given a choice whether to “Pass into Legend” or not.

If you do you will lose all of your weapons that you unlocked on your way to 50 and have your challenges reset. (You keep Golden Guns).

Then you are free to level to 50 again to get to the next rank of legend. You can go to Legend 5.

The only things you get in Legend Mode is a few mounts, and a few different skins that aren’t that exciting imo.

I do not plan on “going Legend”. I will just hit 50, keep the black horse with an Indian skin, and grief people.

Well, that’s the plan for now. I feel confident that R* will give something in a future DLC to those who went all the way to Legend 5.

  8. The only bugs i have seen is when you farm an npc after 10 attacks on the same npc the odd bad guy ends up behind a wall or in a mountain but it is a top notch game on and offline

  9. hey can any 1 help me rank up quick online
like ill add yah then u help me. im rank 29 wwant to get higher :[

  10. one glitch i found was at fort mercer i was riding in a coverd wagon and all was well then i randomly flong all the way to blackwater

  11. Hey do u keep the first buffalo or do u lose it after curt prestige

  12. rdr rules i love it i passed legend 4 times and the new mounts r amazing

  13. The wierdest bug I ran into was as I was riding my horse it like froze and I lost control of it and I had fused with an NPC and I had to commit suicide.

  14. Jacob, the fastest way I can think of is doing Pike’s Basin, and then hitting “Replay” instead of “Continue” at the end. You get 1800xp each time, and can get about 18000 xp in an hour. I hope this helped.
