Weekly Catch-Up

Filed under: Xbox 360 Gaming | 0 Comments

This week I have mostly been enjoying Too Human as well as setting up this blog and a brand new HD TV with stand, so I haven’t had much time to play many games. However, here is a list of the games I have been playing this week:

Too Human (390/1000)
As you already know if you have read the blog post this week, I have been enjoying playing this in online co-op mode with my girlfriend’s son. So far we are both about level 20 and have completed the first 2 level’s/worlds in both single player (to watch all the cut scenes) and multiplayer.

Scene It? Box Office Smash (855/1000)
This is the game I play most with my girlfriend. We both make a great team and often play online together. This is a fantastic family game and a HUGE improvement over the original. One of the best features of this game is that you can play using your own Xbox Avatars.

Gears of War 2 (495/1175)
One of the best games I have ever played! I have already finished the game on normal and am currently playing through on the insane setting. I’ve got to about Act 3 now. I’m also enjoying this game on Horde Mode (I got to about 30 waves) and various online multiplayer matches.

Guitar Hero: World Tour (170/1000)
This game is SO addictive! I used to think that this game would be pretty pointless as I can already play the guitar. I thought that spending time trying to master this would be wasted when I could be spending it developing my real guitar skills. However, this is really fun to play and is great fun with friends! Unfortunately I only have the guitar version (not the full band set) so I can only play this with friends on guitar. This also limits me quite heavily in obtainable achievements.

Current Gamerscore: 30,950

Gaming for Less than £10

Short on cash? Here are some cheap xbox 360 games that I have found this week for under £10.

Eternal Sonata
£9.99 and play.com
This is probably the most gorgeous game I have ever seen on the Xbox 360. I haven’t had much time to play through it yet, but from what I have seen and played so far, this is definitely something special. The game features beautiful music, visuals, and a really interesting storyline. I really cannot wait until I get enough time to return to this game!

The Incredible Hulk
£9.99 and game.co.uk
This game of the movie is quite fun. You basically play as the big green giant in an open world city causing destruction. You can smash cars, tanks, and even buildings! You play through the game by completing mission objectives dotted around the large cityscape, but you can also just wreak havoc just to let off some steam for a few minutes (or hours).

Beautiful Katamari
£9.99 and play.com
This is… weird, yet strangely addictive. Beautiful Katamari is a Japanese game which features a small prince who rolls around a giant ball collecting objects. Sounds rubbish? Just wait until you have tried a few levels of this game! I advise you check out some reviews on this title first (or maybe rent it?) as this short post really doesn’t do the game justice. All I can say about this game is that it can be quite tricky to begin with but stick with it!

TMNT: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
£9.99 and game.co.uk
Whilst this game only took around 4 hours for me to complete, it is recommended for younger gamers. The graphics and gameplay are simple and fun and eventhough it was shortlived for me, I did enjoy playing through it. The achievements for this game are easy to obtain, so those looking for a quick 1000 gamerscore may wish to buy or rent this title.

Surf’s Up
£9.99 and game.co.uk
This game is good for both kids (under 12?) and those who are addicted to achievements/gamerscore. The game features all the characters from the film, local/offline multiplayer, some nice looking levels and plenty of collectibles to find.

Hitman: Blood Money
£9.99 and game.co.uk
Whilst this is quite an old game now it doesn’t mean it’s dated or not worth playing. Hitman: Blood Money is an interesting game because there are numerous ways to complete each level. There are moments when sneaking around that the game really gets you on the edge of your seat. The graphics are still impressive today and there is plenty of replay value.

LEGO Batman – Wayne Manor Glitched?

Filed under: Game Guides | 0 Comments

Lego Batman Bruce Wayne Manor 1 million studs glitched? Can't get them all?Whilst playing the excellent Lego Batman Xbox 360 game I came across an extremely frustrating level. Namely; the Wayne Manor bonus level.

On this level you need to collect 1 million Lego Studs. It appears I’m not the only one who got stuck as many of my friends have also told me how they have spent over 45 minutes trying to get the last few studs.

The place where I found the last remaining Lego Studs on the Wayne Manor level was on the part with the 5 blocks above the orange moving ones. The 4th block would not break, no matter how much I tried. After some mind-numbingly frustrating experimentation I found out you need to jump towards the screen to break it. Glitchy or what?

I used Clayface to double jump, and for invisible bricks I recommend Joker as being the best. His gun fires a lot faster, taking up a lot less time to complete the level.

I hope this helps a few people :)

Another Reason to Download Gears of War 2 Map Packs

Filed under: Xbox 360 Gaming | 0 Comments

Gears of War 2 was finally updated today to accommodate for the new achievements they have added to their Combustible Map Pack (800MS points) and Flashback Map Pack (400MS points. Or free if you purchased the game early enough).

Gears of War 2 Map Packs include additional achievements and gamerscore potentialGears of War 2 is a fantastic game both offline and online (I particularly enjoy the co-op modes). As I already had the free Flashback Map Pack there seemed no reason to rush out and purchase an additional 3 maps for 800MS points. The multiplayer environments gave me more than enough enjoyment and replay value. However, the addition of new achievements means that the Combustible Map Pack is a definite purchase for me.

I’m not sure how many (if any) people read my blog yet as it’s still early days. However, if there is anyone out there please leave a comment on what you think of the new update and if you will be downloading the map packs yourself. :)
